ABOUT THE PRODUCT
Spaghetti is a type of small, round pasta made from durum wheat (Semolina) and water. Spaghetti is a quintessential part of Italian cuisine. Many believe that spaghetti originated in Italy, but in reality, this dish was not invented by the Italians.
Spaghetti has a long history with many intricate legends surrounding it. It is known that around 7000 years ago when humans transitioned from nomadic to agrarian lifestyles, they discovered wheat. Popular dishes made from wheat flour emerged. Using wheat flour, they molded the dough into cakes and baked them on stone slabs heated with firewood. In ancient Rome, this dish became popular and greatly loved, made from wheat flour rolled into thin strips, which is the origin of today’s spaghetti.
Spaghetti became even more popular when King Ferdinand enjoyed it. Since then, this dish was often reserved for the wealthy and noble during special occasions. In the 20th century, with industrial development, spaghetti noodles were transformed into various types and shapes, and the production process was industrialized by large factories instead of handmade production. Spaghetti became renowned and widely consumed, even becoming a street food in Italy and across Europe. In Naples, locals eat spaghetti by twirling it with their hands instead of using forks, believing this enhances the flavor. Spaghetti is not only a delicious dish but also an endless source of inspiration for artists around the world.
